❚❚❚❚❚ BASICS.

■ NAME & ID CODE: Hope Estheim • NHD-A10-STM-168
■ CANON: Final Fantasy XIII Saga, 170 years before Lightning Returns begins
■ AGE: 844 chronologically, 27 physically
■ CURRENT TEAM: YELLOW & WHITE
■ FORMER TEAM: BLUE (DAY 1 - 144)
■ STATUS: DAY 144 — Oh no, what the hell has he gotten himself into...
■ LANGUAGE:

COCOONIAN/PULSIAN
Think of it as a crazy fantasy mash up of Latin, English and Japanese. It's very song-like in nature and everything just flows together easily. He is technically a native speaker of both languages (they're simply different dialects) but he's only a native reader of the first. With the latter he's definitely versed in reading it after having spent some time studying the ruins of Pulse.

ENGLISH
A very basic understanding. He took classes and practiced with his rovermate when he first arrived but has since floundered a little. Conversationally, he has a good understanding and can generally piece together sentences but might need someone to repeat themselves. Otherwise, he's constantly trying to improve his understanding of the language.

■ INVENTORY: HERE
❚❚❚❚❚ IC.
■ PHYSICAL AFFECTION:
He isn't the sort to get up in everyone's business and depending on who you are, there would be many uncomfortable stages to traverse if it happens to him. Once he get to know someone better; hugs, shoulder clasps and hair ruffling is all cool.

■ PHYSICAL VIOLENCE:
If a fight can be avoided, Hope will try and avoid it. Despite the numerous battles he had to face, he isn't much for fighting unless there isn't any other option to take and even then he has more experience fighting as a team. Nevertheless, he isn't a physical fighter in the least and heavily relies on his use of magic. That said, he would put his life on the line to protect his family from danger and would be willing to kill for them.

Would your character die for another character currently in the game? No.
Would your character kill for another character currently in the game? Yes.
Is your character comfortable with and/or willing to mutilate a dead recruit’s body? Yes.

■ RELATIONSHIPS:
Friendships are awesome! The kid needs more friends, to be honest. Romantic relationships could happen? Maybe? It would depend on how things played out considering the theme of the game is destroying planets. Might not be right to woo someone when you're helping contribute to mass genocide.

■ MENTAL INFORMATION:
Hundreds of years later and he is still terribly burdened by survivor's guilt. He watched his mother die, seen friends sacrifice themselves or completely vanish from history and it all sits in the forefront of his mind. Not only that, he was a first-hand witness to the beginning of the end to his world and is still continuing to watch the effects of that take place along with the toll immortality has begun to have on humanity.

■ MEDICAL INFORMATION:
Following the end of Mission Macha, Hope has once again been branded a l'Cie and has gained the perks that come along with it. Because of his status his physical strength, stamina and endurance are much higher than that of a normal human being. He also has an incredibly high pain tolerance and is able to survive a fall from several stories. Overall physically, he's as healthy as a person his age can be. Mentally though, he's something of a mess.

His l'Cie brand is located on the back of his left wrist and partly hidden by the yellow cloth he constantly wears. His brand not active and appears burnt white.

Are they vertebrate? Yes.
Is “breathing” necessary for their survival? Yes.
Do they feel hunger? Yes.
How many fingers and eyes? Ten fingers, two eyes.

■ FAVORITE SENSORY INPUT:
Sound

■ OFFENSIVE SUBJECTS & TRIGGERS:
His mother and her death is still a very a sensitive topic but overall, he isn't easily offended. Unless, of course, his family (the rest of the l'Cie gang) is threatened or insulted because that's a surefire way to get on his bad side.

■ REBELLIOUS TENDENCIES:
As it stands currently, he does not have any sort of rebellious tendencies or any want to rebel. He has trust in the instructors, especially Gliese, Ghost and Mother (though whomever or whatever is at the top of the CDC food chain is another story) plus with people he considers his family here, hope has no interest in stepping out of line.
